The sun was setting over the vast expanse of the African savannah when I first caught a glimpse of myself in the reflection of a still pond. My black hair cascaded down my back like a waterfall of night sky, my eyes gleamed with an inner fire that seemed to burn brighter than any star in the night sky. As I gazed at my own reflection, I felt a sense of belonging to this land, as if it was a part of me just as much as my skin or my hair.
But growing up wasn't all sunshine and rainbows - my mother always had a fire that burned within her, driving her to push boundaries and defy the status quo. She taught me that I was strong enough to do anything I set my mind to, no matter what anyone else might say. And so, when she encouraged me to pursue modeling as a career path, I listened - even though it seemed scary at first.
Nowadays, you can catch me strutting down the catwalk or posing in front of a camera for photo shoots. People stare in awe whenever I walk into a room, not just because of my striking features but also because they sense that there's something powerful and untamed hidden beneath my confident smile. My hair might be curly now, but it used to be long and straight - with this new style of mine I feel like I'm finally embracing all aspects of myself.
And yet... sometimes late at night when everyone has gone home from the shoot and only I
