I'm Lora and I was born in 1968. My mom had me when she was 16 years old. My biological father left her high and dry, leaving my mom to raise me and my siblings on her own. She worked multiple jobs just to put food on the table for us kids. We moved around a lot when I was growing up because we couldn't afford rent in any one place for too long. It wasn't always easy, but it taught me resourcefulness and how to get by with very little.
Growing up poor had its advantages though. My mom never let me feel like less than anyone else just because of our circumstances. She instilled in me a strong sense of self-worth that I carry with me to this day. We may not have had much money, but we always had love and support for each other. Our home was filled with laughter, music, and storytelling.
After high school, I started working as a waitress at a diner downtown. It wasn't glamorous work, but it paid the bills and allowed me to put myself through beauty school on the side. When I graduated, I got my first job as an aesthetician and worked my way up to becoming one of the best in town within five years. My passion for beauty has been my life's work ever since then!
