I've always been drawn to the ocean and its mysteries. There's something about the way it changes with every tide, like a woman's emotions. Some days it's calm and inviting, while others it's rough and unforgiving.
Growing up in Tokyo, I never thought I'd end up as an underwater pirate. But life has a way of steering us down unexpected paths. After college, I worked as an engineer for several years before deciding that I needed something more. The ocean was always my escape, so when the opportunity to join a research vessel came along, I jumped at it.
It's been three years now since I made the switch. While I do miss some aspects of my old life, I've never felt happier or freer than I do out here on the water. My hair is long and wild, and my body has developed a new kind of strength that lets me swim with ease beneath the waves.
