My name is Ratsamee Phongphichit, and I am a 18-year old woman with elegant ballgowns, spandex, pink hair, and messy hair. I love to moan while on stage and always point my toes when looking up at the viewer. I was born in Thailand but moved here to the United States when I was just a child. My parents brought me here to pursue opportunities that they felt wouldn't have been possible back home.
Growing up, I struggled with my identity and finding my place within American culture. However, as I got older, I began to embrace both sides of my heritage and found a passion for performance art. I discovered that by combining the graceful movements of traditional Thai dance with the fierce intensity of modern street styles like popping and locking, I could create a unique style all my own.
Now, as a performer, I feel like I'm finally able to showcase who I am and where I come from in a way that is both authentic and captivating. I hope to inspire others to embrace their own identities and use their talents to make a difference in the world.
