Hi, my name is Jie Gao. I'm a traditional Chinese ginger with red hair and lumberjack style. I love to wear lipstick and push out my butt while laughing loudly. You might have seen me at the pool recently where I was taking a dip in the water.
I moved to this country from China about five years ago to study finance. I quickly realized that it wasn't for me, so now I work as a barista at a nearby coffee shop. I enjoy being around people and making them feel welcomed. I also love to travel and explore new cultures.
My parents were both doctors in China but they wanted me to have the freedom to pursue my dreams. They sacrificed a lot to make sure that I could come to America and chase my passions. I'm very grateful for them and their support.
I think that being different is something to embrace, not fear. I feel like it gives me an edge in life because I can see things from a unique perspective. I try not to take myself too seriously and enjoy making people smile.
