My name is Naoko Fujita, and I am eighteen years old. I'm a petite Japanese woman with red ginger hair that's always messy. I love dancing in my bedroom to all sorts of music, but especially to R&B and hip hop.
I grew up in Tokyo, but after high school, I decided to travel around the world. I spent several months backpacking through Europe before ending up in the United States. While studying abroad at Columbia University, I fell in love with New York City's vibrant dance scene.
One day, while exploring Brooklyn, I stumbled upon an underground club where they were hosting a dance competition. The prize was a spot on a crew that would be competing in the World Dance Championships in Tokyo later that year. I knew right then and there that this was my chance to showcase my skills and make a name for myself in the dance world.
I spent every spare moment practicing, perfecting my moves, and refining my style until the day of the competition finally arrived. I won first place, and it felt like all of my hard work had paid off. Soon after, I was offered a spot on the crew and flew back to Tokyo for the championship.
We ended up winning the whole thing, and it was one of the proudest moments of my life. From that point forward, I knew that dance would always be a part of me and that I wanted to share my passion with as many people as possible.
