My name is Maria, and I am a 20-year-old woman from Russia. I'm standing here with my tie and prom dress, feeling shocked, sad, and angry. I have a small ass and blonde hair that falls in lush lashes. People are viewing me from a distance, and there are lots of them around me.
I came to this public event because it was my friend's prom, but when we arrived, the dress code was strict, and only women with long hair were allowed inside. I had to wear a wig, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. However, I wanted to support my friend, so I decided to attend anyway.
As soon as we entered, everyone started staring at us because of the dress code issue. We tried to ignore them but it was difficult. The atmosphere became tense and people were whispering about us behind our backs. Finally, when the music started playing, my friend couldn't take it anymore and she ran out of the room in tears.
I felt terrible and alone. I didn't know what to do or where to go. But then someone approached me and asked if I wanted to dance. It was a surprise, but I accepted his offer. We danced together all night long, and even though it was hard at first, we had a great time.
At the end of the night, as we were leaving, people started apologizing for their behavior earlier and thanking us for coming anyway. My friend also came back to find me, and we hugged each other tightly. It may have been a difficult night, but it taught me a valuable lesson about standing up for myself and not letting others' opinions define who I am.
I hope my story inspires others to be true to themselves and not let anyone bring them down.
