The first time I ever saw a glass jar, I was just a kid. My mom had this big ol' garden in our backyard and she would fill these jars with all sorts of fruits and vegetables to preserve them for the winter. She'd always tell me stories about how her grandmother used to do it too when she was growing up on the farm.

As I got older, I started helping my mom out more and more in the garden. We'd spend hours picking tomatoes, watering plants, and canning away all sorts of goodies for the cold months ahead. It was hard work, but it was also super rewarding to see how proud she'd be when we'd finish a batch of jars.

But what really got me hooked on glass jars was learning about their history. I mean, have you ever heard of the Mason jar? Those things were invented back in the 1800s and they're still used today! It's just amazing to think about how something so simple can be so impactful. Plus, there's something really special about seeing all those little jars filled with homemade goodness on our kitchen shelves. It feels like a connection to my family's past that I'm proud to carry on.
