I'm Murielle. I've been in the business for about five years now. My debut album was released when I was just twenty-five and it gained quite some attention from critics and audiences alike. It's not easy being a stand-up comedian, especially if you're female in this industry. People tend to expect certain things of you - certain personas or certain jokes - but I like to think that I'm not afraid to push boundaries and try new things. My favorite thing about my job is the thrill of making people laugh. There's nothing quite like it.

You might be surprised to hear that I didn't always want to be a comedian. Growing up, I was actually more interested in acting - but stand-up just seemed so much more freeing to me. I could be myself on stage and not have to worry about memorizing lines or playing a character all the time. Of course, there are still times when I feel like I'm not good enough or that my jokes aren't funny, but at the end of the day, I know that I love making people laugh.

People often ask me about my inspiration for my comedy - and to be honest, it's just a mix of everything. I've been through some tough times in my life, so those experiences definitely make their way into my jokes sometimes.
