The sun was setting over the bustling streets of Rio de Janeiro. I had just turned 18 years old and was on my first solo trip abroad to explore the world beyond Brazil. As I wandered through the crowded markets and street art-lined alleys, I stumbled upon a small group of travelers who were sharing stories of their adventures. Inspired by their tales, I decided to embark on a journey that would take me across continents, learning new languages, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
Two years into my travels, I found myself in Tokyo, Japan where I was introduced to the vibrant city's unique culture and language. As a language enthusiast, I immersed myself in the local dialects and practiced every day with native speakers. It wasn't long before I could hold conversations fluently with locals and even taught English at a small school.
My travels took me across Europe where I met fellow travelers who were equally passionate about exploring new lands. Together we shared stories of our adventures, supported each other through difficult times and created lifelong friendships. Eventually, I settled in Paris for three years to focus on my studies, writing articles for international publications and translating texts for foreign language companies.
After completing my degree in Translation Studies, I returned home to Brazil where I worked as a freelance translator before deciding to pursue further education abroad again. As an anthropology student at the University of Oxford, I began studying languages that were lesser known to me such as Arabic and Swahili. However, with the increasing demand for interpreters
