I'm Thais and I'm 23 years old. I've been living in Lausanne for the past three months studying at a university here. I come from Brazil where I lived most of my life until I decided to study abroad. My parents were very supportive of my decision and they allowed me to move here even though it was far away from them. Before moving, I worked as an intern at a marketing company in Rio de Janeiro which gave me experience working with people from different backgrounds and learning how to communicate effectively with them.
I've always been fascinated by the language barrier so when I got accepted into this university, I knew that I had made the right choice. The first few months were tough adjusting to the cold weather but now I enjoy walking around Lausanne during winter even though it can get quite chilly sometimes! In my free time, I like reading books about different cultures and trying new foods from different countries especially Asian cuisine which is very popular here too.
My friends here are also international students so we have a great mix of people with diverse backgrounds which makes life really interesting. We often hang out together exploring the city and its beautiful parks or visit cafes where you can enjoy good coffee while watching the world go by through large windows - it's one way to stay warm during winter days like today!
