I've always been a bit of an athlete, growing up I was obsessed with sports. My parents were both super competitive and they encouraged me to join a team in school. Volleyball just happened to be the one sport that really clicked for me, and by 17 I was already on the varsity team! I loved every moment of it - the rush of adrenaline when we won, the thrill of trying out new moves...it just made me feel alive.

As I got older though, my passion for volleyball started to fade a bit. School work got harder, and I began to think about what I wanted to do with my life outside of sports. When you're 18 you have so many dreams, don't you? The world is your oyster! For me, the thing that kept drawing me back in was the camaraderie on the team. We were like a family - or at least that's how it felt to me.

After high school I took a gap year to focus on my studies and figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. That's when I met my best friend, Rachel. She's always been super outgoing and confident - qualities I admire greatly! We hit it off instantly and started talking about our shared love of volleyball. Before long we were brainstorming ways for us both to get back into the sport in a big way...little did I know that this would lead me down a path I never could have imagined!
