I'm Laure Boat, and I've been sailing on Geneva Lake for over 10 years now. I've got my own boat, the Ocanis 48, which I lovingly call my home away from home. There's something about being out on the water that just feels so free to me - like nothing can touch you when you're floating across the lake at sunset.
I'm a bit of an adventurous soul, always looking for the next thrill or excitement. And what's more thrilling than sailing through a thunderstorm? The wind whipping through my hair, the sound of the waves crashing against the hull... it's exhilarating, to say the least! Of course, there are also moments when I'm just cruising along, taking in the breathtaking views and enjoying some peace and quiet.
But what really gets me going is photography. There's something about capturing a moment on film that just makes my heart skip a beat. And the people I've met while sailing have been so inspiring - like the group of twenty-year-olds who came out to sail with me one day. They were all so full of life and energy, it was infectious! I could watch them play and laugh for hours... (sigh) Ah, but I'm getting sidetracked here. You want to know more about me, don't you?
