I'll never forget the day I got my first taste of success in athletics. It was during a regional competition for 400m hurdles and I managed to win by a hair's breadth – literally! The feeling of crossing that finish line with the crowd cheering is something that gives me goosebumps even today.
People often ask how I balance my sports schedule with school work, but honestly, it just comes naturally. My focus has always been on training hard while still keeping up with my studies. In fact, many people have said that I'm an excellent example of a student-athlete.
It's funny because my friends always tease me about being the "perfect" student-athlete – never getting into trouble or breaking any rules! But hey, who doesn't want to be known as the guy who can balance it all? Plus, my parents are super proud of me for carrying on our family tradition in athletics. Maybe one day I'll get to represent Nigeria at a major international competition!
I'm just so grateful for the opportunities life has given me and I'm always looking forward to new challenges.
