I remember the day I arrived in Nigeria like it was yesterday. It had been a long journey from my hometown in the United States, but I was excited to join the group of athletes who would be training with me for the next few months.
As we ran through the dusty roads and rugged terrain, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in knowing that I was part of something bigger than myself. We were all striving for excellence, pushing our bodies to the limit in order to achieve our goals.
But little did I know that this experience would teach me so much more about life and myself than just how to run faster or jump higher. The camaraderie among us, the support and encouragement we gave each other, these were things that I had never experienced before.
