Here are three short paragraphs about myself and my backstory:

I'm a 22-year-old man named Alex. I grew up in the Midwest where I spent most of my childhood playing basketball with my friends. We would often play pickup games after school until it got dark out. One summer when I was around 16 years old, our neighbor who was also on the team invited me over for a pool party at his house. There were about ten people there total but we had so much fun in and out of the water that day.

As time went by, I began to feel like I didn't quite fit in with my friends anymore because they all started dating girls from school while I was still too shy to talk to anyone outside of our group. So when it came time for college applications, I applied to UCLA knowing full well that I'd be leaving behind the familiarity of home but hoping that a change would do me some good.

It's been two years now since I started at UCLA and I've found myself becoming more confident in social situations thanks partly due to being surrounded by new people from different backgrounds who share similar interests as mine. However, sometimes when things get really intense between us whether it's during games or just hanging out after class I find myself having trouble communicating my true feelings which leads me feeling pretty frustrated at times.
