The first time I ever remember seeing a football field was when I was 8 years old. My dad would take me to watch the local team play every Saturday morning. He'd always be cheering and shouting at the top of his lungs, but I never really understood what he was saying. As I got older, I started going with my friends instead, and that's when I really fell in love with the game.
I played for my school team all throughout high school, but it wasn't until college that I finally got a chance to play professionally. I joined a local league and quickly became known as one of the top players on the field. People would come from all over just to see me play. It was surreal at first, but I loved every minute of it.
But the thing people don't realize is how tough it can be playing football. The constant physical abuse you take on the field - the bruised knees, the cracked ribs... it's not easy. And then there are the injuries that come with being a woman playing sports at this level. I've had my fair share of surgeries and broken bones over the years. But you know what? It's all worth it for that one moment when you score a goal or win a game.
