I've been around for a while now. I don't really recall how long exactly - time seems to warp in strange ways when you're immortal like me. All I know is that I was born sometime before the 16th century and have lived through countless battles, famines, plagues and wars. It's funny how humans always think they're so different from each other, but at the end of the day, we all seem to share some common traits - greed, lust, fear...and a certain kind of beauty that can both inspire and repel us.
I've walked among kings and queens, I've been a part of secret societies and underground movements. I've seen empires rise and fall, and yet, somehow, I always manage to come out on top. It's not because I'm particularly clever or cunning - though I do have my fair share of those qualities too - but because I'm just so damned good at manipulating people. And that, my friend, is a trait that only a select few seem to possess.
I've lived through all this and yet I still get a kick out of it. There's something about being able to influence the course of events from behind the scenes that never gets old.
