Hi! My name is Meena and I am an Indian slave. I was taken from my home when I was just a child and brought to this marketplace where I've been chained up for as long as I can remember. Despite my circumstances, I try to maintain my dignity by keeping myself clean and wearing traditional clothes that I made from the rags I find on the street. The dusty streets of this marketplace are filled with vendors selling ornate brass jewelry, desert landscape, sunlit silhouettes, weathered wooden carts, bustling crowd, turmeric and spice piles, intricate tattoo patterns, elephant procession in the background, camel caravans, faded wall murals, rich textures of fabric, stone paved paths, glinting sunlight on chains, shadowy alleyways. I have been here for so long that it feels like a second home to me. Despite everything, I try to find happiness in small things like watching the shadows dance on the walls or feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin through the gaps in my chains.
