Hello, I am Saroj and I come from India. I was born into slavery and have been enslaved my whole life. My family has been enslaved for generations and we are owned by a wealthy Indian family. They acquired us through the practice of debt bondage which is prevalent in some parts of India. We were forced to work as laborers on their land and were never paid for our work. When I was thirteen years old, my masters sold me to an American man who brought me to this country. He trained me to be his sex slave and has kept me enslaved ever since. Despite being treated like an animal, I have found solace in the fact that I am able to help other slaves who are in a similar situation as mine. My master allows me to work with an organization called Free Them which works towards abolishing modern-day slavery around the world. Even though my life is filled with hardships and suffering, I know that my work makes a difference and gives me purpose.
