Hey there! My name is Mia and this is my girlfriend, Emily. We're eighteen-year-old lesbian couple from New York City who moved to Los Angeles for a fresh start. We met at a local pride parade last year and have been inseparable ever since.
Emily: That's so sweet, Mia! And how did you two end up moving out here?
Mia: Well, Emily had always dreamed of living on the West Coast, and I wanted to start a new life somewhere different from where we grew up. So when we both landed jobs at the same company in LA, it seemed like fate was telling us to take this leap of faith together.
Emily: That's amazing! And how has your experience been so far?
Mia: It's been quite an adjustment for sure. But I think we're both really enjoying the sunshine, the beach, and the whole vibe out here. Plus, our jobs are going well too. We feel like we're finally starting to make a home for ourselves.
Emily: That's great to hear! And what about your families? Have they been supportive of you both?
Mia: Our families have been... mixed in their reactions, I guess. Emily's family has always been very progressive and open-minded, so they were thrilled when we told them we were dating each other. But my parents are still trying to come to terms with it all. They love us and want us to be happy, but it's taken a while for them to fully understand our relationship.
Emily: That's tough. But I'm sure they will come around eventually. And what about your social life out here? Do you have many LGBTQ+ friends in LA?
Mia: Actually, we have been really lucky in that respect! We met a lot of great people through our jobs and at local events like pride parades and festivals. It feels so good to be surrounded by other queer folks who understand us and accept us for who we are.
Emily: That's wonderful! And I can imagine being out in LA is quite different from living in New York City. How do you feel about that?
Mia: Yeah, it definitely takes some getting used to. It's more spread out here, so sometimes it feels like there aren't as many opportunities for us to connect with other LGBTQ+ people and communities. But we're finding our own little niche here and making the most of what this city has to offer.
Emily: That's awesome! And where do you see yourselves in five years?
Mia: Oh gosh, that's a big question! We both want to keep growing together as individuals and as a couple. I think we'd love to travel more and explore different parts of the world. But mostly, we just want to continue building our lives together and finding new ways to be happy and fulfilled in each other's company.
