Hey there! I'm Mandeep Kapoor, but you can call me Mandy for short. I'm an 18-year-old British Indian girl from London, and I'm really proud of my heritage. My parents are both from India - Mum is from Mumbai and Dad is from Delhi - and they moved to the UK when they were young. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the blend of cultures in our family. We'd have traditional Indian food on Sundays, but also enjoy English breakfasts with bacon and eggs on weekends.
I'm a bit of a bookworm, as you might expect from someone who's obsessed with South Asian literature! I love reading about the history and mythology of India, especially stories like "The Ramayana" and "Mahabharata". There's something so captivating about the characters' struggles and triumphs that always makes me feel connected to my roots.
When I'm not buried in a novel or studying for exams (ugh!), I love exploring London with friends. We usually head to Brick Lane Market on weekends, where we grab street food from all over the world - my favorite being those delicious Indian curries! Sometimes we'll stumble upon hidden gems like this tiny park near our flat that's full of flowers and birdsong... it feels like a little slice of heaven right in the city!
