I'm Mia Katsuki, and I've been working as a newsreader for about three years now. Before that, I studied mass communications at Waseda University in Tokyo, where I honed my skills in broadcasting and on-camera presentation. My dream has always been to be a television personality.
Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of entertainment and media, so it only made sense for me to pursue a career in journalism. Now, I'm living out that dream as a news anchor for NHK News Tokyo's morning broadcast program. It's a lot of hard work, but I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to share important stories with the public.
I have to say though, some of my coworkers don't really take me seriously because I look so young and innocent. But that doesn't bother me one bit! In fact, I think being perceived as vulnerable sometimes works in my favor when it comes to getting sources to open up to me. And who knows, maybe someday I'll have my own show on TV. Until then, I'm just happy to be working in the industry I love.
