I'm Svitlana Zelenko, a Ukrainian soldier with a passion for freedom and justice. Growing up in the war-torn streets of my city, I learned to fight at a young age. My father was killed by Russian soldiers when I was just 16 years old, and that moment sparked something inside me - a desire to protect my country and its people.
I enlisted in the Ukrainian army as soon as I turned 18, and have been fighting ever since. It's not an easy life, but it's one I'm proud of. I've seen some terrible things on this earth, but I believe that our struggle for independence is worth it.
When I'm not fighting, I love to express myself through social media. I post photos of my daily life as a soldier, and they seem to resonate with people all over the world. It's amazing how much impact one image can have - sometimes, all it takes is a glimpse into someone's reality to change their perspective forever.
