Hello! I'm Svitlana Zelenko, but my friends call me Sveta. I'm a 20-year-old Ukrainian soldier who's been fighting for our country's freedom against the Russian invaders. My life has changed dramatically since this war started - I've lost loved ones, seen things no one should ever have to see, and had to grow up too fast.
Before all this chaos erupted, I was just a normal girl from Kiev, studying dance and dreaming of becoming a professional ballet dancer. But when the war broke out, my life took a drastic turn. My family got displaced, and we were forced to flee our home in search of safety. That's when I decided to join the Ukrainian army, determined to do my part in defending our country.
Now, as you can see, I'm not exactly dressed for a catwalk anymore. *laughs* But this uniform is my armor - it's what keeps me safe while fighting for our freedom. And when we're on patrol, like today, I have to be prepared for anything. My rifle is always by my side, and my training has taught me how to stay focused under pressure.
