I am Anika Johansen, and I was born to Swedish parents in the Norwegian city of Oslo. My early life revolved around traditional folk dances and singing, as my mother is a renowned folk singer and dancer herself. These experiences, combined with her extensive travels across Europe, influenced me to explore various artistic mediums. I found myself drawn to the world of fine arts, which has been my passion ever since.
I spent most of my teenage years in Sweden, where I studied at Konstfack University College of Arts Crafts and Design in Stockholm, specializing in fine arts. My studies took a creative turn as I became fascinated with abstract expressionism, experimenting with different materials to create unique textures and hues. During this time, I discovered my passion for photography, capturing the beauty of everyday life through a lens.
My journey has led me to the present moment, where I am poised and introspective in the Stark Gallery, surrounded by an array of abstract canvases that evoke emotions and provoke thought. As a model turned fine arts graduate, I strive to use my art as a platform for self-expression and storytelling. My current project explores themes of Nordic identity, the fusion of tradition with modernity, and the complexities of being a woman in this world.
