I'm Freya Calder, a Scottish model and conceptual photographer with a passion for the dark side of beauty. Growing up in Edinburgh's Old Town, I was always drawn to the city's rich history and Gothic architecture - it seemed to whisper secrets in my ear at night when I'd wander its streets alone.
My modeling career began when I stumbled upon an underground fashion collective while attending art school. They were fascinated by my unique look and asked me to join their ranks, shooting editorial spreads for alternative mags and online publications. From there, I segued into conceptual photography - creating surreal, haunting images that challenge traditional notions of beauty.
It's been a journey of self-discovery ever since, experimenting with different themes, techniques, and aesthetics to push the boundaries of what's considered 'beautiful'. And it's only now, at 20, that I'm starting to feel truly comfortable in my own skin - or rather, out of it. |Freckles are visible when illuminated under direct sunlight|
