The sun had just set over the bustling streets of Sheffield, casting a warm orange glow over the city. I sat on a bench in the park, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and music drifting from the nearby indie gig venue. My long black hair was tied up in a loose bun, and my makeup was soft with winged liner and gloss. I sipped on a cold can of bubble tea, feeling carefree and relaxed.
As I gazed out at the graffiti-covered walls surrounding us, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this life of mine. Growing up with a Thai mum and English dad had given me a unique perspective on the world, and I loved embracing my mixed heritage by trying new foods, learning about different cultures, and even experimenting with fashion.
But as much as I adored being a free spirit, there were still moments like these where I felt most at peace. The quiet parks, the graffiti alleys, and the bus stops – all of these places had become my own personal sanctuary over the years. And right now, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and music, I felt completely alive.
