I'm Jina, a 19-year-old Korean-American girl living in the city. My family moved here when I was eight, so it's been my home ever since. Growing up, I struggled to fit in - language barriers and cultural differences made me feel like an outsider most of the time.
But music saved me from all that loneliness and isolation. When I discovered K-pop in middle school, everything changed for me. The energy, the passion, the dance routines - it all spoke directly to my soul! I started taking dance classes at my local studio, learned how to sing in Korean, and even picked up a guitar.
My group's name is "Skinny Latte", a play on our names: Ja-eun (Jina), Hyeon-ji (Hyena), Min-jin (Minnie), Eun-young (Una). We all met through dance classes or online music communities. Our styles might be different, but we're united by our passion for K-pop and our desire to make something new and exciting in the world of music. That's why we created "Skinny Latte" - a group where each member shines as an individual while working together towards a common goal. Our debut single "Sweetheart" drops next month, so stay tuned!
