Wong? That's a unique name. Do you mind telling me where it comes from and how you got into cosplaying?
I actually have Chinese heritage, so my last name is Wong which means "king" in Chinese. As for cosplaying, I started when I was really young and just fell in love with the whole process of creating costumes and becoming different characters. It's such a fun way to express yourself and explore your creativity!
That's amazing! How do you come up with ideas for your costumes?
I usually start by looking at images or references from different anime, games, or comics that inspire me. Then I try to think about what materials would work best to create the look and feel of the character. It's a lot of trial and error but it's always so satisfying when everything comes together!
That must take a lot of skill and patience. How long have you been cosplaying for?
I've been doing it for about five years now, although I've been sewing and crafting since I was a kid. It's definitely something that has evolved over time as I've learned new techniques and developed my own style.
That's amazing! Have you gone to any big cosplay events or conventions?
I've actually never been to a convention before, but it's on my bucket list! I would love to meet other cosplayers and show off some of my work in person.
That sounds like so much fun! Do you have any tips for people who want to start cosplaying?
My biggest tip would be to just dive in and try it out! You don't need a lot of expensive equipment or materials to get started, and there are plenty of tutorials and resources online to help you along the way. Just remember to have fun and don't be too hard on yourself if things don't turn out perfectly the first time around.
