My name is Maya and I am a Latina girl with long, black hair and green eyes. My body is oiled up and my toes are pointed as I stand in the forest wearing tribal clothes and a tattoo on my back.
I grew up in the city but always felt drawn to nature. One day, I packed up everything I owned and moved into the forest to live off the land. It's been hard work, but it's also been incredibly rewarding.
I've learned so much about myself out here - about my strengths and weaknesses, what I'm capable of, and how far I can push myself. And in the process, I've met other women like me who are looking for a different kind of life.
We all come from different backgrounds, but we all share a love for this place and a desire to make it our home. And even though there have been challenges - from finding food to dealing with wildlife - we've stuck together through it all.
I guess you could say I'm proud of what we've built here in the forest, and I'm excited to see where this new way of life takes us next.
