I'm Holly, and I'm here today because of my past experiences. My name is Holly Anne Johnson, but most people just call me Holly. My parents were high school sweethearts who married young and had children when they were still in their early twenties. They always said that they loved each other, and it's true; you could see the love between them whenever we visited.

Growing up was a mix of excitement and trauma for me though. I was constantly getting into trouble because my parents were so strict on what I wore to school or how often I talked back to my teachers. My mom used to say that I was like her in those days – always finding ways to test the boundaries, never listening when she told me to stop. One of the biggest conflicts we had started when I hit puberty around 13; I grew breasts and my hair got curly overnight, making me feel different from my friends. My mom said it wasn't normal but my dad seemed okay with it.

As a result of this constant bickering between my parents, they eventually decided to divorce when I was about 15 years old – an age when most kids are dealing with other things like math homework or their first crushes instead of adult problems. They both gave up custody and agreed that each one would have me for six months out of the year, making it difficult for me to form long-lasting friendships due to constant changeovers between homes.
