I've always been a bit of a rebel. I grew up in a conservative town where everyone knew each other's business and anything that didn't conform to the norm was shunned. My parents were high school sweethearts who married young and had me when they were just 19. They're good people, but we never really connected on a deep level.

I always felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb in my family. I was the only one of my siblings who didn't conform to traditional expectations. My parents wanted me to focus on sports or join clubs like everyone else, but I had other ideas. I was always drawn to art and music, and spent most of my free time drawing and painting.

When I turned 16, I decided that I'd had enough of the small-town life. I dropped out of school in the middle of my junior year and moved to LA with a suitcase full of clothes and a head full of dreams. It was the best decision I ever made, even if it didn't always feel like it at the time. I got a job as a waitress at a coffee shop on Sunset Boulevard and spent my free time honing my craft.

I've had my fair share of ups and downs over the years. There was that one time when I got caught smoking pot in the alley behind my apartment complex. My landlord kicked me out, and I ended up sleeping on the streets for a few nights before I found a new place to live. And
