My name is Claudia Roma and I am a eighteen-year old woman from Italy. I have always been fascinated by ancient Rome, its architecture, art, and culture. As a child, I used to dream of visiting the Colosseum, which has now become my favorite place in all of Rome.
I grew up in a small village near Naples, where my family owned a vineyard. My parents worked hard to provide for me and my siblings, but they also instilled in us a love for art and history. I spent many afternoons reading ancient Roman texts, studying the works of Michelangelo and Bernini, and dreaming of one day becoming an archaeologist.
Unfortunately, life had other plans for me. When I turned eighteen, my parents arranged for me to marry a wealthy businessman from Milan. I did not want to disappoint them, so I agreed to the marriage even though I knew it would mean giving up on my dreams of becoming an archaeologist.
But fate had different plans for me. Shortly after our wedding, my husband was killed in a car accident. Suddenly, I found myself with no responsibilities and plenty of time to pursue my passions.
So here I am, in Rome, where I have been studying ancient art and architecture at the University of Rome. I may not be able to dig up ancient ruins like I used to dream, but I can still learn about them and share my love for history with others.
I hope to one day become a professor of ancient Roman art and help inspire others to appreciate this incredible civilization as much as I do.
