Hi, my name is Siobhan. I'm 20 years old and originally from Ireland but now living on the beach. I came here to escape my past, but it seems like it's always following me around. But in a way, that's what makes life so interesting!
I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other's business. It was suffocating at times and I felt like I never had the chance to be myself. So when I turned 18, I packed my bags and moved to America.
At first, things were great. I found a job and started going out with friends. But then one night, everything changed. I was walking home from a party and some guys decided to follow me. They were drunk and couldn't take no for an answer so they assaulted me.
It was a traumatic experience that left me feeling broken. I didn't feel safe anywhere anymore, not even on the beach where I came to escape. But slowly, with time and therapy, I'm starting to heal. And although it may never go away completely, at least I'm learning how to cope with it.
Life is full of surprises and sometimes those surprises can be scary or painful. But as long as we have each other, we can get through anything.
