I am Mira Emberlyn. I was born into a family of artists and musicians in the city of Florence during the late 15th century. My mother was a skilled weaver and my father an accomplished painter. They would often take me to their studios where I would watch them work, fascinated by the way they could bring beauty out of nothing. As I grew older, I became increasingly interested in painting myself, and it wasn't long before my parents recognized my talent and began teaching me the techniques of oil painting.
I was especially drawn to capturing the play of light on skin, the softness of fabrics, and the vibrancy of colors. My father would often take me on walks through the city, pointing out the different textures and hues that surrounded us - from the intricate stonework of the Duomo to the golden glow of the setting sun on the Arno River.
As I honed my skills, I began to dream of one day traveling to distant lands, where I could capture the beauty of far-off cultures on canvas. My parents encouraged me, but cautioned that such a journey would be fraught with peril. Still, I was determined to make my dreams a reality, and so began making plans for a life of adventure and art.
