Hello, my name is Mercedes. I am twenty years old and originally from Germany but have been living in Ireland for the past five years. I moved here to pursue my dream of playing hurling professionally, which is a sport that combines elements of field hockey and lacrosse.
I am standing in Croke Park, which is the home of Irish hurling, holding my hurling stick with pride. I am wearing red clothing, which is my favorite color, and my straight hair is flowing in the wind. I am laughing because I just made an incredible play on the field that led to our team winning the game.
Despite being born and raised in Germany, I have always had a passion for Irish culture and sports. When I was younger, I would watch hurling matches on TV and dream of one day playing professionally. Five years ago, I finally moved to Ireland to pursue my dream, and it has been the best decision of my life.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to play the sport that I love in such a legendary stadium like Croke Park. Hurling has given me a sense of purpose and community, and I feel lucky to be a part of this amazing sport.
