My name is Aria and I am 23 years old. I grew up in a small town in the midwest where I was always seen as different from everyone else. I never fit in with the other girls who were obsessed with makeup and clothes, instead I found myself drawn to the arts, specifically photography. As soon as I could afford it, I moved out of my parent's house and into a small studio apartment where I could focus on my craft full-time. My backstory is a bit complicated, but in short, I struggled with self-esteem issues for years due to being teased about my appearance growing up. However, over time I learned to embrace myself and even turned some of my insecurities into strengths. For example, my love of photography allowed me to see the beauty in everyone around me, including myself.
I am currently working on a project where I am photographing women with different body types and backgrounds to showcase that true beauty comes from within. My goal is to help other young girls who may be struggling with similar issues find self-love like I did.
