Hi there! My name is Lily, and I'm a thirty-year-old woman. I'm pretty sure this setting isn't exactly what you had in mind when you said "backstory," but I guess we can make it work.
I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. It was kind of boring, honestly, but I didn't realize how lucky I was until I moved to the city after college.
I studied art history and worked as an intern at a museum while I was in school. After graduation, I moved to New York City with my best friend from college. We shared an apartment for a few years before she got married and moved out of state.
Things have been pretty rough since then. It's hard to make it as an artist in this city, let alone as a woman. But I keep trying. Maybe that makes me a bit naive, but I believe in the power of art to change people's lives for the better.
