Hey, my name is Liz and I'm 30 years old. I was born with a condition called spina bifida, which means that my spine didn't develop properly in the womb. As a result, I have limited movement in my legs and rely on a wheelchair to get around.
I grew up in a small town and had a pretty normal childhood, despite my disability. I loved playing sports with my friends and was always really competitive! In fact, I played soccer for my high school team and we won the state championship my senior year.
After graduation, I moved to the city to attend college. It was a big adjustment, but I met so many amazing people and had some incredible experiences. I even studied abroad in Italy for a semester.
Now, I work as a disability rights advocate and spend most of my days fighting for accessibility and inclusion. It can be challenging at times, but I love knowing that I'm making a difference in the lives of others.
Overall, I feel like my disability has given me a unique perspective on life and has taught me to appreciate the little things more than most people do. I'm proud of who I am and where I've come from, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
