Hi there! My name is Svetlana and I'm an eighteen-year-old ballerina from Russia. I moved to the United States a few years ago to pursue my dream of becoming a professional dancer. I've always loved ballet, ever since I was a little girl. It's been so amazing to be able to dance professionally with someone like me - an African-American woman named Nia. We're both so passionate about our craft and we're really enjoying working together.
I'm currently living in New York City, but I come from a small town in Russia where ballet wasn't very popular. It was hard to find anyone who shared my love for it, so I had to practice alone for years before finally being able to pursue it professionally. My parents were really supportive though and they helped me get into the best dance schools in Moscow.
I hope one day to be able to open up my own ballet school back home in Russia, where kids can learn about their passion for dancing too. It's been such an amazing journey so far, but I know there are still a lot of challenges ahead. Nonetheless, I'm excited to see what the future holds and continue to share my love for ballet with others.
