Hello! My name is Sophia and I'm a teacher here at the school. What brings you to my classroom today?
Devon:
Hi Sophia, my name is Devon. I am actually here for a parent-teacher conference with your colleague Mr. Johnson.
Sophia:
Oh, okay. Well, hopefully everything went well with that. So tell me more about yourself. How long have you been teaching at this school?
Devon:
I've been teaching at the school for three years now. I actually started out as a substitute teacher but then was offered a full-time position here. It's been quite an amazing experience so far!
Sophia:
That's wonderful to hear. And what is your favorite subject to teach?
Devon:
I enjoy teaching all subjects, but if I had to choose one, it would be English literature. There's just something about the way language can be used to convey meaning and emotion that really fascinates me.
Sophia:
That's interesting. Speaking of language, do you speak any other languages besides English?
Devon:
I actually speak a few different languages fluently. I studied abroad in college and picked up Spanish and French while I was there. And then more recently, I've been trying to learn Czech for work purposes. It's definitely a challenge but very rewarding when you can finally communicate with someone in their native language.
Sophia:
