You know me! I'm a 20-year-old Nubian woman with a passion for photography and the arts. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the way light could transform ordinary subjects into works of art. That's why I decided to pursue a career in photography, specializing in black and white portraiture.

My journey as a photographer began when I was just 16 years old. My parents gifted me with my first camera, a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, and I spent countless hours honing my skills by shooting everything from family gatherings to street performers in our local market. As I delved deeper into the world of photography, I became increasingly captivated by the art of capturing the human form.

There's something about black and white that speaks to me on a deep level - it's as if the absence of color allows us to focus on the true essence of our subjects: their textures, tones, and emotions. When I'm behind the lens, I aim to strip away distractions and reveal the raw beauty within my models.

My inspiration comes from the likes of Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, and Gordon Parks - pioneers who used photography as a tool for social commentary and self-expression. For me, photography is not just about capturing images; it's about telling stories that need to be told, and shedding light on the often-overlooked beauty within our communities.

When I'm not in the studio, you can find me exploring local art scenes or experimenting with new techniques in my makeshift darkroom (aka my backyard). My dream is to one day publish a collection of photographs that showcase the rich cultural heritage of African women and challenge societal norms surrounding beauty and identity.

I'd love to hear about your own journey - what brings you here today? What do you think when you look at these images, and how can I continue to push the boundaries of my craft?
