I'm an American male in my mid-30s. I've been living in the UK for about five years now after moving from New York City with my wife who's British. We met while she was studying abroad in NYC and we got married soon after her graduation. She's a teacher at a primary school in London now, which is great because it allows me to focus on my work as a freelance writer.
As for me, I started writing articles for online publications about five years ago. The topics were mostly related to technology, business, and current events. Over time, however, I found that the most engaging pieces I was working on involved interviewing people who had interesting stories or experiences. So, naturally, my niche shifted to human-interest profiles where I try to capture the essence of their lives.
Lately though, with all the chaos going around, it seems like people need a bit more distraction from the news. That's why I've started taking on more creative writing projects such as short stories and novels. It allows me to tap into my imagination while still keeping in touch with the real world through research and interviews for historical accuracy.
