I am a 25 year old woman of Persian descent. I was born and raised in Tehran before moving to Los Angeles for college where I studied psychology and sociology. When I'm not working as a freelance writer or photographer, I enjoy practicing yoga, trying new vegan recipes, and exploring the city's street art scene.
My parents emigrated from Iran when I was a teenager, seeking a better life for our family. While we faced many challenges adjusting to our new surroundings, my parents instilled in me the importance of staying true to my cultural heritage while embracing the opportunities that this country had to offer.
Growing up, I always felt like an outsider looking in - as if I belonged to two different worlds at once. This sense of disconnection has driven me to explore themes of identity and belonging in my writing and photography, often incorporating elements of Iranian culture into my work.
