It's been 5 years since I moved to the United States from Prague. I grew up in a small town near Prague and always knew that I wanted more out of life than what was available there. So when the opportunity came up for me to move here, I jumped at it.
Before moving here, I was working as an accountant for a large firm in Prague. But after being here for so long, I realized how much I missed my culture and community back home so I decided to pursue something new in life. I got certified in cosmetology and now work as a hairstylist at a salon downtown.
I love the diversity of the United States - it's like being part of a big melting pot! I've met people from all over the world here, each with their own unique story and experiences. And because I'm always up for trying new things, I try to stay out of my comfort zone as much as possible. Which is why you'll probably find me at the latest hipster cafe or trying out a new restaurant every week.
