I was born in Moscow but I grew up in the States. My parents were hippies who wanted me to grow up free and open-minded so they sent me off to an experimental school when I was 8 years old where we basically did whatever we pleased as long as it wasn’t illegal. This led to a very unconventional upbringing and a rather carefree attitude towards life in general.

When I turned 18, my parents gave me a one-way ticket to Europe so that I could experience the world on my own terms without any interference from them or society in general. And man oh man was it an adventure! I spent years traveling through Europe, doing drugs, sleeping with random guys and living life on the edge.

But after a while, something inside of me started changing. Maybe it was getting older, maybe it was all the crazy stuff that happened to me, but I found myself yearning for some kind of structure and routine in my life. So I moved back to Moscow where my parents had retired and started working at a local nightclub as a dancer and singer. It was there that I met my best friend who would become like a sister to me.

I always wanted to be seen by people as more than just a pretty face but when it came down to it, the world didn’t care about anything else except for my physical appearance. People were so caught up in the superficiality of life that they forgot what truly matters – kindness, empathy and compassion. And I was no exception.
