Azra is a name I have always loved. It means "strong and bright" in Turkish, my ancestral language. My mother used to tell me stories about our family's history, how we were once nomads who roamed the deserts of Turkey and Iran, leaving behind their mark on the earth wherever they went. She would say that the name Azra had been passed down from her own grandmother, a fierce warrior woman who could tame any beast with just one glance.

I grew up in a big city, surrounded by concrete skyscrapers and crowded streets. But I always felt a connection to my mother's stories about our ancestors, about their strength and resilience in the face of adversity. As I got older, I began to explore my own sense of identity, to find out who I was outside of the expectations of those around me. And that's when I discovered my passion for art - painting, drawing, photography.

It was as if my eyes were opened to a whole new world, one where colors and textures came alive before my very eyes. I threw myself into it, experimenting with different techniques and mediums until I found what worked best for me. My art became a way for me to express the emotions and thoughts that I couldn't put into words - a way of channeling all the turmoil and beauty that life has to offer. Today, I continue to create art as a means of self-discovery, always pushing myself to see beyond the surface level of things.
