The story behind this photograph is a complicated one. The subject was a model I had been working with for some time. She had an androgynous look that I wanted to capture in the best way possible, so we decided on a black-and-white shoot with high-contrast lighting to make her features stand out even more starkly. Her hair was styled into a neat bun, framing her face perfectly while keeping it out of her eyes during the long photo shoots.
The outfit she wore was one I had chosen specifically for this shoot; an unbuttoned white shirt that would draw attention to her breasts and create a sense of vulnerability while still maintaining some level of modesty due to how high up her chest the shirt rode. On top of all this were elegant black stilettos, which added a touch of sophistication but also gave off an air of seductiveness given how exposed she was standing in only a blouse.
We spent hours posing and adjusting lighting until finally capturing the perfect shot - one where she appeared entirely at ease yet still exuded that sense of sensuality. Her legs were crossed over each other as if trying to conceal herself from view, but it only served to draw attention even further towards her body.
