My name is Katie, and I am a thirty-year-old Irish woman. Growing up, my parents raised me to appreciate the rich history of Ireland and its patron saint, Saint Patrick. Every year on March 17th, we would celebrate with parades, green beer, and traditional Irish foods like corned beef and cabbage.
As a child, I always looked forward to this day because it meant getting to wear green clothing and decorating the house with shamrocks. However, as I grew older, I began to realize the true significance of Saint Patrick's Day. It represents the spread of Christianity in Ireland and the conversion of thousands of people from paganism to Catholicism.
Despite my religious beliefs, I still hold dear the traditions that were passed down to me by my parents and grandparents. Every year on March 17th, I celebrate with family and friends and reminisce about the memories we've made over the years.
